Hey loves,

So last week, I think, I asked Norvina if she would answer some questions for my lovely little blog. It was a cheeky ask but she said yes and gave me an e-mail address almost instantly. Love that.

So, if you're reading this and thinking 'who is this lady?' or even worse 'what does she do?' then please take a seat and get with the programme. Norvina is the creator of all things contour, lips, eyes and concealing. If you follow her on Instagram then you will notice her constantly testing out products.

So here are the questions.. (I am still slightly fan girling)

Everyone has been falling head over heels for your company. From the eyebrows to the contour kits and now liquid lipsticks.

I know you have some brushes and concealers for sale, will there be expansions with those or even into the foundation world at some point?

Yes that's the ultimate goal is to expand to the entire face. We have to pace ourselves for a multitude of reasons, and hopefully keep our customers excited with new offerings every quarter or as often as every 60 days.
When you see drugstore or indie brands imitating a product you have made so iconic in the make-up world, how do you feel?

At first it feels a bit strange, but at the same time its elevating as it shows our contribution to the industry on a small level. Expansion is always good and its fantastic to see our platform growing.

Norvina with her wonderful mother, Anastasia.

So many international beauty addicts (like me, I'm in Ireland) have a hard time getting a hold of your products, over time will there be an easier way of getting them? Is the brand going to be sold on more sites like Feel Unique, Cult Beauty etc?

ABH is a visible brand due to social media, so its easy to forget that we are a small brand. Expansion, particularly to Europe isn't easy as it requires local offices, a sales force and the support of local retail chains. We are expanding more and more with websites like the ones you mentioned, which are a blessing in countries that are impossible for us to penetrate . You will see a lot more ABH come fall.

Tell me your top 3 YouTubers and why?

Jaclyn Hill - She's my twin, she's amazing with make-up, she's such a sweetheart. YouTube Channel here.
Nikki Tutorials - beautiful make-up girl and such a riot. YouTube Channel here
Desi Makeup - love her style and skills. YouTube channel here.

You work with Mario Dedivanovic (Mario's Twitter Link) who is worldly known with the Kardashians, is he sassy?

Mario is like the brother I never had. He is so similar to my moms personality. He's an artist, but has that European upbringing which makes him more conservative, a bit reserved but overall he's absolutely amazing. I was able to see his work for our summer campaign creating looks that are a bit more colorful than his bronzed goddess signature and his range and ability is impeccable

As a blogger looking to work with large companies, how does someone like me get your attention? It is such a tough job for someone who is a smaller blogger.

Honestly the marketing team is so good about trolling hash tags. It comes down to the photo quality to be honest. here are so many amazing artists, but there are also 1.4 million pics under our hash tag. Make sure your pic is crisp, bright and can capture attention in a line up

One more ques, if I were in your position and someone or a group of people did not like my products etc and bashed them online, I would be so pissed. How would you deal with that and do you?

I think its part of the business. You cant expect for everyone to love the product, understand it, or have it work for them. There are so many factors as to why something works for one person versus another and if you try to defend the product, you're arguing with people about personal preference or taste. That's ludicrous.

Guys, go subscribe to this beauty, you will not regret it. Honestly.

Have a wonderful evening and don't forget to smile :D

I think I have an addiction to lipsticks. What an opener to this post eh?

I have a few Wet N Wild lipsticks. These are a semi matte finish which is ideal because they're not too drying on the lips.

One thing I am aware with brands lately is the colour on the sticker or outside is not always true to the colour it actually is.

Excuse the chipped nail varnish in the pic. This is a raspberry red with a slight pink to it. Definitely NOT a smokin' hot pink. The packaging to these lipsticks is cheap and cheerful but for €2.99 it's no big deal.

So, that is the worst hand swatch ever haha. You can see how much of a raspberry colour it is. It is still so so pretty. I thought it would be kind of like my Maybelline 'Pink Punch' but that is definitely creamier in consistency and pinker.

I love LOVE this shade and it lasts so well on the lips. They fade nicely on the lips too, they don't fade with patches.

This review is short because they're amazing.

Here is the lipstick on my lips with a dark brown lip liner.

Have you tried these lippies?

Have a wonderful evening and don't forget to smile :D

L'oreal miss manga mascara

Have you ever tried something and completely hated it? Then re-tested it out and fell in love?

I bought the L'oreal Miss Manga mascara, in black, at Bristol Airport and kind of didn't know to much about it other than it was hit and miss. Funnily enough a tonne of American YouTube folk I watch LOVED it, otherwise it was 50/50 reviews.

When it comes to my lashes I just don't want too much of a clump effect. If there is some then I can deal with it but I don't want that spider effect. If I can have lots of volume great, if they are long then woohoo. I am not too fussy.

I think the packaging is a tad bulky but it't not too annoying. It isn't too heavy and doesn't feel cheap. This is L'oreal's first flexible, 360 type of mascara wand. I do believe there were three colours; black, turquoise and violet. I wish I had the violet one too. Maybe when I'm back in the UK.

As a blogger that reviews products constantly, I have to be honest with this one. I hated the wand for the first 2/3 times I used it. HATED IT. It poked me in the eye once. the fact that it moved just made me so irritated haha. Then one morning I curled my lashes, as I do, and used it with no expectations and loved the results. It made my lashes long but not too long but the volume was really impressive. It held a curl very well and didn't clump or smudge onto my face. There were also no flakes throughout the day.

I have to say this trumps all over my fave Barry M Showgirl mascara. Another thing is how black it is, just awesome. You have to give it a shot everyone. Wow I hate being wrong about anything but to hate this at first makes me embarrassed haha.

Have you tried this yet? Are there any other L'oreal mascaras I should try? Let me know.

Have a good weekend and don't forget to smile :D

Bourjois Colorband | Mauve Baroque

Oh I do love a new product release. On one of my previous posts I mentioned Bourjois had an offer on in Superdrug so this was one of the newer products released and I felt I *needed* it. Oh Lord haha. Welcome to the family Color Band hehe.

On my brown eyes I love greys, greens, purples and anything taupe. This swatched was so gorgeous and it sheered out nicely. These eyeshadow/liner hybrid products can be hit and miss. I have tried quite a few from the drugstore and one that works very well is from Barbara Daly (Tesco brand). Step aside Barbara, there's a new love in town.

There is glitter to this product which some people may not like but it's not flakey or annoyingly obvious. Sometimes glitter in these kind of products can make it stiff or gritty, that is not the case. I was super impressed at the pigmentation, it is outstanding. Bourjois claim that these last 24 hours but I wouldn't be one to wear it for that long but I did wear it for 10 hours and it was still there, it didn't crease and definitely didn't get dull on the lid. I have to indulge in some more. Just make sure you have a good eye makeup remover for these, again, seriously pigmented.

Have you picked up any of these bad boys? They are available here.

Have a wonderful day and do not forget to smile :D

Top 5 Places To Photograph

This is a picture heavy post so look away now if it is not your cup of tea. I love a good day away with the camera and beautiful scenery. Some of these pictures are before I got the magical Canon 40D so yes sorry for that.

First up we have Broadway, more specifically Broadway Tower. Have a peep at the website here.

Broadway is one of the nicest villages in the Cotwolds and I believe it is hugely popular amongst the film industry. All information here. There are so many gorgeous tea rooms and unique stores in the village itself but my favourite thing to do is the Cotswolds Way walk. I have been through the fields, woods and end up on an open road where there is a wind turbine, The walk finishes on one side at the Broadway Tower cafe which is top dollar. Their lemon drizzle cake and tea is my fave! The walk down to the village again is superb. I will say in the Summer you are going to have cattle in the fields and sometimes it may be bulls. Walk on the wild side and enjoy.

London is a crazy city. So busy and it changes all the time. The hustle and bustle might not be for everyone but I sure love it. I don't think I could live there but I rather enjoy spending a few days there. What I love about London is that there is always so much to do. On this particular day I took the pictures, it was a tad gloomy but still special. I had lunch on benches near the London Eye, went to the London Dungeons which was amazing. Just love London.

I feel like Woodchester Mansion is a hidden treasure in the Cotswolds. It is not a million miles away from Nympsfield. You can walk from the car park through the woods or take a mini bus down. It is stunning and I mean stunning. There's so much history in that huge gorgeous building. As you walk about half a mile away there's an isolated boat house and I was obsessed with this place for months after visiting. The second picture is pointed up to the ceiling. The floors were never finished and yes I think there was a fire place obsession. If you are ever in the area, go visit this pretty special place. Visit the website here.

I really wish I photographed more of Mount Usher last year but I am making it my mission this Summer to come back. Set in Ashford, Co. Wicklow it is one of the most beautiful gardens on the East Coast of Ireland. This place has style, class and thousands of different plants/shrubs. When you walk in there is a garden centre where you can buy plants etc. You walk through to the court yard where there's a cafe and some small stores. This cafe is hard to get a seat in so booking is often required. I love how the gardens wrap around the River Vartry. It is stunning.

Wicklow is my home town. I grew up here and it is stunning. I love the sea air, beautiful scenery and all those lovely walks along the coast are just breathtaking. If you are ever in Dublin or anywhere on the East of Ireland then take a day trip to Wicklow (providing the weather is nice) and see these views for yourself. There are lovely coffee shops in the town, my favourite being Michaela's and tonnes of cutesy stores.

So that is it guys. Where do you love to go with the camera and snap away? Let me know.

Have a wonderful evening and don't forget to smile :D

Bourjois 'Peach Club' Rouge Edition Velvet

Have you ever had high hopes for something and it failed? Yeah happens frequently but I try to not put so many negative reviews on my blog. This one is different.

I recently went to Superdrug and they had an offer on Bourjois. If you spent £12 you got a free lip product. Now I have two other Rouge Edition Velvets and love one, not the other. I thought this was a really good deal so spent £12.

I actually really like the packaging to these. They're small, vibrant and easy to store. Some of the colours are gorgeous and I have heard wonderful things. I got Peach Club because the Spring will soon be here and thought it was something definitely different in my collection.

Oh man alive, this is bad. The product itself is a gorgeous colour in the packaging but it is much lighter in person and is super patchy.

You can see in my swatch it is patchy and colour wise a little darker than I expected. On the lips, it is much the same. I paired it with several lip liners and it was better but nothing outstanding.

I knew I should have gotten a lipstick but at least now I know. I will find a way to make it work which is a pity considering I love Bourjois to bits.

These retail normally for £8.99.

Have you tried this shade?

Have a wonderful day and do not forget to smile :D

Sunday, 15 February 2015

Well, it has been a few weeks since my last post. Was I sick? Did something happen?

If you follow me on my social media you will know that there was a death within my family. It happened to my dear Aunt on New Years Eve when she had a heart attack and for the next 10-14 days it was a rollercoaster of emotions and just life being a bitch, basically.

In that time I got told I was unsuccessful for a permanent job in LUSH. Dare I say anything about that, I might explode. I will mention that working your ass off and being full of product knowledge still will not get you hired. Again, life is a bitch.

I know that some people have a system where they have posts on the back burner to schedule should they need to but I did try that and I don't think I even promoted what I posted about. I had to unfortunately block an IP address from looking at my blog and YouTube, to the best of my ability. I have no tolerance for haters and especially when this person was a friend. Get a life and get real.

I have some very exciting posts coming this week and one is a Q&A with Norvina. If you do not know who Norvina is then please check her out on Instagram as she is fab!!!

Have a wonderful evening, see you tomorrow and do not forget to smile :D
