Essence Haul

Hey beauties,

Ooops I bought some stuff.

So I was having a really rubbish day in work today (sat, 27th) and popped to Wilko for a nosey. That place gets me everytime haha. In Ireland I could buy Essence so easily and when I moved to the UK three years ago I couldn't get it anywhere. Now they are in nearly all Wilkos *happy dance*. I LOVE ESSENCE!

So anyway there were a tonne of products half price or discounted. I grabbed a few things that I knew I would definitely use.

I <3 Smokey Jumbo Eye Pencil is a newbie for me but I have used the mascara in this collection before and it's quite decent. It's very black and a semi matte finish. This was £1.

I have two other Silky Touch Blushers and love them. Whilst they are pigmented they are light on the skin and last so well. You definitely get the most of your day in wear time. I got this coral shade in Sweetheart for days when I want a soft blush. This was £1.

I have had many of the single eyshadows from Essence and haven't always been impressed. The price point is great regardless of discount but sometimes the pigmentation can be weak. I picked this one up in Sandy Says Hello as I love a shimmery champagne on my lid with some liner lately. This is definitely one of the better shades and whilst it's a metallic finish it's a tad more shimmery than metallic. For .50p who would complain?! Nobody!

This was one of the newer products and not discounted. I am obsessed with highlighters lately. For some reason I want them ALL! Impossible task. I saw this Soo Glow highlighter, saw the white gold colour and had to have it. It's a cream to powder finish so I am interested to see how it goes. My shade is Look On The Bright Side. Retail price is £2.80 which is great value.

I have a few of the Metal Glam Eyeshadows now and love them on the lid with some MAC Fix +. The top layer is a spray over which is a tad annoying. The shade in Frosted Apple is cute but not as vibrant as I want but will definitely be used. This was £1.

You can see in the swatches I did a slight heavy hand swatch but I always like to show what the products are like built up. I cannot wait to wear them and show you all some looks.

EXCITED!!

Have a great day

Got Oily Skin?!!

Hey beauties,

So, let me just start with this 'I AM AN OILY/DRY SKINNED LADY AND I HATE IT'. What's your skin type?

I bloody hate being oily, it drives me insane. Now I know there are bigger problems in the world but my mountain everyday is the shine on my t-zone haha.

I decided to inform you friendly bunch about the products I think *HELP* combat the shine or the oil on zee face. As far as having a morning routine I have another post next week for that. These products are more night time appropriate.

I always make sure to use my Garnier Moisture Match for Oily/Combo skin at night almost immediately after taking my make-up off. I don't use it every single night. It is not the lightest of creams but it definitely soothes the skin. The reason I use it t night as it needs time to settle into the skin.

Vichy Idealia cream is so amazing yet so not talked about. I, again, use it at night because has an illuminating factor to it that I think needs time to sink into the skin. It can help you also if you are dry. It will give you a dewier appearance. This feels so nice on the skin and when I wake up in the morning (not feeling like P Diddy) I feel like my skin is super soft.

When it comes to face primers nothing really helps too much BUT I have pores the size of a football and need some help. The Rimmel Fix & Perfect Pro works wonderful with my YSL Fusion Ink foundation and also my Smashbox Studio Skin. It helps keep the matte look longer. It smells like crap but works well. The Maybelline Baby Skin is more of a summer primer for me but when I want to wear less make-up I use this and it works great. It's not as greasy or heavy feeling as the Benefit POREfessional.

Do I use too much on my skin? Maybe. Every other day I will spray Urban Decay's De-Slick on the lovely made up face of mine. It does help keep my foundation on a tad longer but it's not a necessary step. If you are oily this will work better for you than anything else out there.

So I hope this was helpful. I do have more products but all those talked about have worked and have worked for months.

MAC 'Please Me' Lipstick

Hey beauties,

I thought I would share my thoughts on this wonderful lipstick from MAC. I bought this in Stansted Airport Duty Free recently. Haul post here.

Mac describe this shade as a muted-rosy tinted pink. It is definitely a very wearable nude pink shade. I first bought this about 3/4 years ago and when I was hitting the Duty Free I knew I wanted to repurchase this bad boy.

It is a matte finish so it's long wearing but also not too drying. The old style matte lipsticks from MAC were drying as heck but this is comfy. I love it. This lasts about 4 hours on me before I need to either reapply or smooth out the edges.

I don't think this shade is talked about enough. Go buy it purleeeeeeeeease hehe.

Have you tried this shade? Have you any recommendations for my next MAC lipstick?

Makeup Collection #1 | Lip Crayons

Hey beauties,

I have a serious addiction to make-up in general BUT lip products seem to be the one product I have the most of. I went on a two week visit home to Ireland and brought 26 lipsticks with me. That is a seriously weird decision haha. I ended up being home for three months but that's besides the point.

So those are four lip crayons I have kept. I got rid of those I didn't use recently.

Revlon Colorstay Matte Balms are incredible. I did have three but the pink one I did not like. That one was called 'Showy' and it looked very patchy on my lips. I have 'Standout' and 'Shameless' now and I love them. Standout is that gorgeous blood red I love. Shameless is a deep purple that isn't found often on the High Street, super cute. They look great and vibrant on my lips and last a good 4/5 hours. They also leave a stain on the lips. They are available in Boots and Superdrug for £7.99 each.

Next I have a Catrice Pure Shine Balm in Go Flamingo Go. I got this as a gift from my friend Aishling but they are still available. What I like about this is how sheer it is. You do need a few sweeps to get a full peach shade on the lips but it's perfect for your handbag or for those days where you want a wash of colour. On the swatch picture this product is beside the red heart.

Lastly is a Too Faced Color Bomb in Bee Sting. I didn't think I would like this much at all BUT it is a very beige nude. I have a love affair with the Too Faced Lip Glamour Glosses and this is similar. I love the plumping effect it gives my lips. The lasting power on this is strong even though you wouldn't think it would do much. I got mine with a Christmas set but they are sold at Too Faced stands.

I'm thinking of doing another collection post next week. I'm thinking of showing my blushers/bronzers or maybe my MAC collection.

Have you tried any of these?

bareMinerals BARESKIN Serum Foundation

Hey beauties,

Well today I would like to give you my thoughts on the latest bareMinerals foundation.

Now I did do a video on my thoughts of this bad boy which is below.

I got some info from Sephora's website about this foundation for you guys. What it is:
A breakthrough tone-correcting mineral foundation and skincare serum in one.

What it does:
Created with exceptional purity in mind, this ultrathin, skin-perfecting fluid provides seamless adjustable coverage, a natural finish, and the look and feel of beautiful skin while delivering a noticeably brighter, more youthful appearance—it’s like nothing you’ve ever felt before.

I said in the video there were 16 shades but there are infact 20, which is amazing. It is £26 and available here.

Have a peep at my video and let me know what you think please.

Revlon Colorstay Moisture Lip Stains

Well hello there,

Have you ever heard so much hype about a product that by the time it got to UK stores, you had no interest? That's me with the Revlon Moisture Lip Stains. I really wasn't phased by them. I seen Revlon had an offer on in Boots (2 for £10 on certain items) and bought one to give it a go.

The shade range is not the worst, definitely covers all colour bases. Revlon say 'Revlon Colorstay Moisture Lip Stain. Hours of moisturising colour and glass-like shine that glides on with cushiony comfort for a look that is perfectly pulled together'.

I absolutely love the packaging. It's compact and the idea of being able to see the product is something I am a fan of. The applicator is a typical doe foot one but I think this works well especially as the product is a slightly creamier one.

As you can see they are quite sheer but they can be built up with a few layers. The consistency is thicker than a normal stain/gloss which can be gloopy on the lips at first but work with it. I usually like about two coats just to have some colour on the lips. There is no shimmer or glitter in this particular shade which I like. The lasting power is in around 2/3 hours for me. It feels nice on the lips and hydrates but the stain factor isn't there. Once it has faded, it has faded.

I chose Barcelona Nights as I wanted a more sheer berry colour for the Autumn days. All in all I don't hate this product but I don't love it either. I think I prefer Sleek's new glosses to this and they last longer. They're usually £7.99 alone but Boots do have an offer at the moment. I don't think they're available in Superdrug just yet.

Hope you have enjoyed my post. Have you tried any of these stains? Let me know.

MAKEUP REVOLUTION AWESOME METALS | MAGNIFICENT COPPER

Hey hi,

So yes another Makeup Revolution post but they're pretty hard to avoid.

I was very excited to try this bad boy out. I know Stila started this foil eye trend but they difficult to find in person where I live. I saw these on the Makeup Rev website and for £4 how could I say no?!

The pigmentation is very good, last power equally as good. I love this as a middle of the lid colour, under the bottom lashes or all over the lid with some heavy eyeliner and lashes.

Makeup Rev are onto a winner here. Love them.

GUEST POST | TOP 5 MAC PRODUCTS | RASPBERRYKISS

Well hi,

Today is a guest post from the wonderful Shannon. This girl is one of my best friends and her beautiful blog is here  and with over 3000 followers, you know she's amazing.

Want to hear about my top 5 MAC products?

My Top 5 MAC Products

MAC products aren't something I purchase often nor do I think they're the best products on the market but their are a few products which I utterly adore and find myself reaching for a lot. These five products are quite possibly my favourites of my little stash and ones I'd recommend  to try.

MAC Lipstick in Rebel
Rebel is an Autumn/Winter staple lipstick for me. It is simply gorgeous. In the bullet it is very dark looking, almost like a very deep and vampy purple but when applied it is a gorgeous deep berry pink that can be built up or sheered out to your desired colour. I find it compliments my super pale skin really well and I'm a big fan of the slightly glossy finish.

MAC Lipstick in Pink Nouveau
This is probably my most used lipstick of the year and definitely an all time favourite. Pink Nouveau is a stunning pink. It is quite bright but not really in your face. It reminds me of Barbie and is just a great, fun and girlie shade to wear. In terms of the formula it it is nice and pigmented with decent lasting power. Much like Rebel it has a Satin finish but I'd say it is a smidgen more drying.

MAC Lipstick in Creme Cup
If its a good every day, easy to wear shade you're after Creme Cup is definitely the way to go. It is a soft blue toned pink that is very creamy, glossy and has good pigmentation. I don't find it drying at all however, the longevity isn't the best as after around 2 hours it disappears. However, the shade is one I reach for regularly and I simply cannot get enough of the colour, hence why it is one of my top five products.

MAC Blush in Well Dressed
As you can probably tell Well Dressed is certainly shall we say, well loved. This has become my safe blush and one to go to when I'm not feeling adventurous in the slightest. It is a very pale pink which provides the skin with a gorgeous natural glow. It isn't overly pigmented and does require some building up but it works very well for me. I'm not sure if this would be suitable for those with darker skin tones as I'm not sure it would show up but for us pale guys and gals, I can't recommend it enough.

MAC Blush in Dollymix
Now when I am feeling a little adventurous I get out Dollymix which is a pure candy pink that looks a little scary in the pan but on the cheeks it is a beautiful pink colour that contains subtle glitter and gives the skin a nice sheen. It is nicely pigmented so I find I do have to be a bit light handed but it blends out well so when I do go a bit over the top it is easily fixed.

Don't forget to go over to Shannon's blog and check her out.

Haul Airport Style | World Duty Free Stansted

So you know when you go away on holidays and unintentionally buy things? That was me this morning (Wed). No self control.

Anyway, I thought I would pop this post up tonight as we're taking it easy in the hotel and I am a dedicated blogger.

I have been trying out two shades of the YSL Fusion Ink foundation so in the end I went for B20. This will be perfect all year round. Full demo and review coming soon.

So MAC in the airport wasn't great. The displays were odd. Anyway, I still bought a travel size of Fix + because it's something I've wanted to try and thought right this is the time. Spain is sooooo hot. I have a huge obsession with lipsticks and it's a tad ridiculous. I had the intention of getting Velvet Teddy again but opted for Please Me. Please Me is a gorgeous pinky nude and suits everyone.

I also found a Sephora here in Bilbao, much to my boyfriends delight haha.

Have a good week.

Essence 'METAL GLAM' Eyeshadow

Well hello there,

Today I bring you a lovely post on something a bit different. I have been a fan of Essence for years. The brand has been available in Ireland for quite some time. I love seeing it on sale here in the UK so check out your local Wilkos.

I have one of these eye shadows already in 'Chocolate Jewellery' and love it. It's a beautiful warm, deep brown shimmer. I saw this and fell in love. It's a blue/teal and very shimmery.

As you can tell by the 'metal glam' name, these can be used wet or dry. They really are something special and so so affordable. The only issue for me is the over spray, it is a lot. As you can see it is a bright colour that not just anyone can pull off. I think it works well as a pop of colour on the lower lash line or as a centre of the lid colour.

Once you get past the over spray the colour still has some reflective silver glitter which is gorgeous. These bright shadows make a pop of colour so easy and pretty. I use a primer or white eye pencil to really make sure the colour sticks down and that way you get the best result and longevity.

I will use this in a look on my YouTube channel very soon, subscribe here.

Have you tried Essence yet? Let me know lovelies.

AUSSIE MIRACLE DRY SHAMPOO

Hello loves,

Have you ever wanted to like something so much but you just can't? That is me with this product. I almost feel bad for not liking it.

I am a huge fan of the Aussie range in general. I have a huge fondness for the Colour Mate shampoo/conditioner and the 3 minute miracle sachet conditioner. They have saved my hair many a time. I honestly thought this dry shampoo would be amazing.

Whilst it doesn't smell as bad as say the Girlz Only dry shampoo it is still a tad stinky. On the bottle it says 'Don't let overwashing dull out your colour. When your hair needs reinvigorating fast, give it a blast of this dynamic dry cleaner with Australian Jojoba Seed Extract.'

Gah, it just is not great. I found it very hard to brush out the grey cast it left on my head with both a brush and my finger tips. It would be very noticeable all day. You might be wondering if it made my hair look washed even though it wasn't? Well no. It looked and felt tacky. That grey cast was impossible to hide. If I touched my head throughout the day it looked like I had dandruff but it was the dry shampoo.

I got this from Boots for £2.99 about three weeks ago so I have given it a proper go. It is on the website and there are two sizes. Mine is 180ml and was on offer but is now £4.99, full price. All items here.

Sorry Aussie but you missed the boat with this one for me. Gah so disappointed.

Have you tried this?

THE SECRETS OF BLOGGING | TAG!

Hey loves,

Well today is a tag post type of day. I saw this tag a while ago and had the questions saved. I don't do enough tags and wanted to do something different today.

When did you start blogging and why?
I googled a make-up product and saw Fleur's blog and thought it was something I could give a go. Since then I have learned to use my knowledge in a way I enjoy. I love writing and this is the perfect creative outlet.

How many people in real life know about your blog?
I remember at first I told nobody but I think my friends and family know I am make-up obsessed and love writing so it is a natural blend. Now I think all my friends and family know about it. It's the YouTube channel I keep more of a secret haha.

What are your favourite posts to read?
I really enjoy hauls, reviews and looks. I enjoy seeing how people use their products to create a look for them. It's a different way of getting to know someone.

List a blog you discovered recently?
Angela Lanter and I discovered her YouTube ages ago but her blog is great for look books. I just love her and her attitude. Angela is very good at giving every detail and alternatives. I wouldn't normally be a fashion blog person but she has converted me.

Which posts are you most proud of?
Anything that's a bit personal for the reason of it being hard to write down and then publish. It might be MY blog but it's still out there on the ole interweb. In May/April I wrote a few personal posts. I also pride myself in giving a good review and not just reviewing something for the sake of it. I give products time.

Which advice would you give future bloggers?
Just be you and never let anyone tell you that you isn't enough. You learn quickly who is and who isn't a fan of your blog and a tonne of that comes from jealously so never take it to heart. It is your space so use it for you :D

Thanks for reading and let me know if you do this tag. I tag you all but I want to tag others specifically.

I TAG!!

Here are the questions..

Seventeen Stay Time Concealer 'EXTRA FAIR'

Well hello there,

Today I want to talk about a concealer. I have been testing this out for a wee while now.

I use MAC Pro Longwear Concealer on a nearly daily basis but I wanted to find something on the more affordable side to share with you guys, my readers, and to wear in work. Where I work can get to 70-80 degrees Celsius as it's a photography store. It really is the best place to test out make-up etc as I can tell by 6pm if a product can stand the heat and dry air.

Now forgive me if I'm wrong but one of the most popular concealers on the High St/Drugstore is by Collection and I really didn't want to try that again. I was browsing through Boots in Stroud and saw the Seventeen stand had a few products my normal Boots didn't have and picked this up.

Claiming to last 18 hours is very admirable, I had this under my eyes and on high points for 12 hours and what do you know? It stayed put. It might not have been as bright as when applied like my MAC can be BUT it was still there and visible enough. I was wowed, instantly.

This picture was taken at 7.30pm and I had been home from work in around 20 mins. See how it still looks nice? Yay.

I am definitely going to recommend this to you guys and if you are oily like me, this is a winner. It is also more yellow based which can be hard to find in an affordable concealer. There was no sinking into my pores, no creasing and it didn't disappear throughout the day. For £4.49 this is fantastic. Off I go to Boots to get a darker shade to cover any pesky face demons. May I finally mention that having Extra Fair as a shade is something more High St/Drugstore brands need to look into.

Have a wonderful day.
